Medication Technician Training

This course is designed for students interested in learning about the responsibilities of a medication technician, including obtaining and dispensing medications under the supervision of Medical Practitioners as well as Licensed Nurses.

A medication technician training program provides students with the specialized skills necessary to work in the medical field. This program is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to become successful in this profession. It covers medication administration, dispensing, storage, and drug interactions, providing students with the necessary tools to succeed. They will also learn techniques to assess patient needs, understand regulations and safety protocols, and develop interpersonal skills to help build patient trust.

In addition, the students will learn how to administer medication in assisted living facilities as well as to patients in their private homes. Through this course, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and the different forms of medication documentation. By honing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, students will be better equipped to identify and address medication-related issues promptly and effectively. Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared to sit for their certification exam to become licensed medication technicians.
